Revisit your breakfast toast

Good morning!

Today’s tip is about breakfast and how to make it more nutritious.

The first image is a piece of white toast with one or two tablespoon of jam. This breakfast contains 150kcal, 30g carbs, 15g sugar, 1g of fiber, 3g of protein and 1.5g of fats. It also contains very little amount of micronutrients such as vitamins and minerals. This breakfast will fill you up, give you energy for a very short time and leave you craving something sweet one or two hours later. Why? Because it does not contain enough fiber, protein and fats that help us stabilize our sugar levels and keep us full for long!

The second breakfast is made with one slice of wholegrain toast, 1 tbsp of peanut butter and a handful of fresh strawberries. It contains: 178kcal, 20g carbs, 2g of sugar, 5g of fiber, 7g of protein and 8g of fats. And it contains B vitamis, vitamin C and Magnesium!

Can you see the difference?
