Greek Yoghurt or Coconut Yoghurt?

Today I would like to compare Full-fat plain Greek yoghurt and Coconut yoghurt.

With this post I don’t want to discredit any product and I think both yoghurts can be eating as a part of a healthy diet.

However, I would just like to show you the difference, because even though they share the same name, the composition is very different!

Coconut yoghurt is a popular dairy-free alternative to cow’s milk yoghurt. But, if you decide to go for it you should know that it is way higher in calorie and in fats (saturated fats in particular, which are the ones that we should limit), it is also lower in protein and contains 0 calcium (unless fortified), which is essential for our bone health.

They would both be a good source of probiotics for happy guts!

Are you lactose intolerant? It is important to remember that cow’s milk yoghurt is naturally low in lactose, because the live bacteria will help break down most of the lactose, making it easier to digest!
