Lactose intolerance is very common these days and many people avoid drinking milk for this reason.
However, when it comes to choose a milk alternative, which one to choose?
Here’s my tips:
· Always choose the unsweetened version. Look for the ingredients list and check if it contains added sugar;
· If possible, choose a Calcium fortified version. Unfortunately, many Calcium fortified versions also contain sugar. I prefer a sugar-free version than a Calcium fortified version. Almond milk naturally contains Calcium.
· If you are looking for a high protein option, soy milk is the highest in protein.
· Looking at the ingredients list, choose the ones with less ingredients! Many have lots of additives and preservatives.
